Thomley

Thomley is a place for people of all abilities and disabilities. We provide an exciting site for disabled people, their families, carers and friends. We support people at any stage of their diagnostic journey, whatever their additional needs.

We have a variety of facilities and activities on offer including a soft play area, two sensory rooms, art room, play rooms, music room, imagination and construction room. We have a teenage den and new gym all waiting to be explored.

Outdoors you can climb fort Thomley, ride a bike around the 1km track or build a sandcastle. There is plenty of space for sports and outdoor fun. Our seven-acre playing field is surrounded by peaceful countryside, but completely secured within an eight-foot perimeter fence.

Our playground equipment has been designed for the needs of disabled users and includes: a covered sandpit; adapted swings and zip wire; wheelchair-friendly play fort and roundabout; an accessible garden with allotment; and a one-kilometre cycle track with a good selection of bicycles, tricycles, go-karts and a trampoline.

On a practical note our pavilion has a cafe serving hot and cold food and drink, plus there are lockers to leave your things for the day. A lovely eating space that over-looks the field. We have fully accessible toilets with ceiling hoist, wet-room and adjustable equipment.

We run lots of different workshops and activities with include cooking sessions, arts and crafts, giant bubbles, sports, bouncy castle, train rides to name a few. We publish our activities timetable well in advance to help you plan your visit.

When can you come?

People with a disability can visit on any of our dates, there may be some events that are for certain ages groups. Siblings, family and friends without a disability are welcome to join you on these days.

People without a disability can visit on limited days. These are ‘Open for all’ days, preschool days or for private venue hire.
