Sungate, Bath

Sungate, Bath is a 3 bedroom bungalow that sleeps up to 5 people, located in Bath. It is set away from the main road, with on site parking. Sungate has a range of unique autism friendly features, to make your stay truly special. Tamsin and David have an autistic child and have spoken to many families and autistic people about their experience of staying in holiday accommodation, before lovingly adapting Sungate to meet a range of sensory needs.

Sungate has a twin bedroom with 2 single beds, neon lights and laser ceiling projector. The double bedroom has a king size bed (with ultimate comfort mattress) and the single room has a reinforced single bed with waterproof mattress. The single room also has an ensuite shower room with Powder Rain shower and Quiet Mark fan. The main bathroom has a sloping bath, sensor tap, light up mirror and Quiet Mark fan also. All rooms have safety blackout blinds, underfloor heating and warm white lighting.

The lounge has a Sensory Corner with indoor teardrop swing, floor mats and crawl tunnel. There is also a large smart TV and DVD player, plus bay window seat to sit and enjoy the beautiful views of Bath. The kitchen has lockable doors plus oven and hob with child lock. There is also utility room with washer dryer.

Follow the path round to the back of Sungate and guests will find the Sensory Courtyard, an enclosed space with water feature, wind spinner and chimes, and canopy swing.

Tamsin and David want everyone – autistic children and adults, their families, parents, grandparents and carers, to enjoy their holiday. When guests book, they receive a digital welcome guidebook, downloadable to their phone, which has details of autism and family friendly places to visit in Bath. These include Bath city farm (a free entry autism friendly farm, just 5 minutes’ walk from Sungate), the autism friendly award winning Roman baths, Royal Victoria Park and Sydney Gardens park, the American Museum, the bookable Sensory Space in Bath Central library and much more. Sungate also welcome Family Fund/Inspire holiday vouchers for families who are struggling to afford a break.
