Homelands Trust-Fife
Homelands is an independent Fife-based charity working to improve the quality of life of people affected by disability, long-term health conditions and life-limiting illness through the provision of luxury 4* holiday accommodation. Homelands is located in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife in Scotland, just 10 miles from St Andrews.
We currently have four lodges which opened in September 2014 . One of which sleeps eight across four bedrooms and three of which sleep six across two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room area. These are named Drummochy, Massney, Keil and Cardy. They have been specially designed and built with accessibility in mind.
We are delighted however to be offering a further five lodges which are currently being built and are available to book online from the end of March 2023. Two of which sleep eight across four bedrooms and three of which sleep six across three bedrooms. These are named Largo, Lundin, Selkirk, Durham and Emsdorf.
Our sleeps 8 lodges feature two electric profiling hospital beds, one in each ground floor bedroom.
As standard we provided Guldmann H-frame ceiling tracking hoists in all ground floor bedrooms and the large wet floor shower room in each lodge. In addition we provide pressure relief airflow mattresses in all lodges and Clos-o-Mat toilets in selected lodges. We can also provide a wide range of portable specialist equipment including shower trollies, shower/commode chairs, electric mobile hoist, electric stand aid, sit to stand transfer aid, Etac turner manual stand aids and a host of smaller items such as wheelchairs, walking frames etc. Please see our website for more details on how to book these items and our full access statements. Stays start from a minimum of three nights. We generally offer a 3 night break over the weekend, a 4 night break midweek and then a 7 night stay or longer but which fits in with the booking pattern.
With view across the Firth of Forth, we are surrounded by seaside and countryside. Fife has been working hard to offer more accessible tourist attractions, inclusive play parks, and toileting facilities over recent years and months. There are fantastic beach wheelchairs available to book along at the West Sands in St Andrews. The region is famed for it’s outdoor sports/activities, water sports, history and fresh produce / sea food; served in many of the local restaurants which range from Michelin Starred to world famous and favoured by Royals fish and chips in Anstruther. Fife is a great base to visit Edinburgh, Dundee, Stirling, Perth, St Andrews but to name a few.
