The break you want with the accessibility you need

Holidays for carers and disabled people

Equality Together is proud to present Holibreak+, funded by Bradford Metropolitan Council.

Holibreak+ offers the choice to take the break you want with the accessibility you need. It’s not just holidays we offer, we also offer activities and day trips, there really is something for everyone.

Many people aren’t aware that they are able to use their respite money for a holiday as an alternative to staying in a care home. Whether you enjoy a leisurely long weekend on a canal barge, a sun-filled holiday of relaxation, or an action-packed skiing adventure, this venture will have something for you.

What our clients say…

“After attending an information day at Manningham Mills last year, I visited the Holibreak stand, the staff where very helpful and informative. I discovered that I and my wife are entitled to respite care, something I was totally unaware of until that day, have since contacted Joyce who has been extremely helpful contacting possible respite centres for availability and costs. She has relayed all the information back to me and my wife to enable us to make an informed decision and give me and my wife a long awaited holiday, thank you Holibreak!”

“Dear Joyce, just to let you know that my brother passed away very suddenly on 12th January.  The canal trip was his last big outing so it will always be very special to me.  Thank you for all the good work that you do.”

Text from a Carer that had been on the canal boat trip in December 2021.

“I was very pleased to be given the chance to take out for the day, my husband, who suffers from dementia, it was a cold damp day, but to be outside of the house was such a treat.

Plenty of wildlife, swans, ducks even a small deer on the banking, my husband enjoyed his day out and it certainly made a change for me too, thanks must be given to the organisers, and I would welcome the chance to take him again, he fell asleep on the journey back home, but expressed his enjoyment of his day out to family when they called to see him.”
